GRAND TETONS 16X20 2003

The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone always get my pulse up. This was a nostalgic trip. I learned how to paint in a wilderness setting 20 years earlier in these parks. It is a different skill set camping and painting. It takes a while to hit my stride and become synchronized with my gear and environment. Between sun, insects, wind, and looming sciatica, having the right setup can mean the difference between fatigue at one hour or ten. Creature comforts enable me to achieve a meditative state. It is easy to get, metaphorically, lost in this view.
