BRIDGE IN RAIN 20X16 2001

My trip was starting to wind down and the weather was turning rainy in early September. I was to meet up with a friend from Houston, in a couple of days, to see the World Superbike Races in Essen, Holland. Fortunately, I had a good rain suit. More than keeping me dry, it kept me from getting hypothermia as I would sit for long periods, in the elements, working. I was pretty far along when this piece started to turn to mud. I retreated to a coffeeshop (pot) to allow my paint to dry and completed the piece. A sense of victory is felt when I thumb my nose at nature and return with a pelt (painting).
