FRIENDS 20X16 2000

There are times when I look at objects, organic and inorganic, that I imagine relationships between them. Picture two trees sprouting at the same time, side by side. They grow everyday, competing for water, air, sunlight and space over the course of hundreds of years. Certainly they are aware of each other. I think they would communicate. Surely they laugh, cry and reminisce. I imagined a relationship between this idle backhoe and crane. They were tearing down my cherished city to make a place for strangers and an alien environment for the likes of me. Love and death is evident. They are depicted by the red sky, the skull and x's.
