THE GENERALS PALACE 16X20 1999

You are looking straight up with a view towards balconies and gargoyles. This is one of those pieces that made my stomach knot and neck ache. I was sure it was going to fail compositionally but this perspective had so much potential, I couldn't resist. There is no set orientation for this painting. I am a glutton for punishment. Not only was I serenaded with Flamenco guitar and dance, but a whole troop of dancers in period costume performed in an adjacent square. Sometimes the magic of Spain demands a few aspirin.
