AQUATIC PARK  26X30  1996

Cue the drum circle, dancers, acrobatics, jugglers and fire eaters. Aquatic Park has been a haven for mass performance going back decades. It occupies an arena and jetty which wraps around to reveal spectacular views of San Francisco. It was impossible not to dance and move while painting this scene. About an hours drive from rustic Point Reyes, San Francisco was a welcome cultural fix every now and then. I attempted to capture the excitement of the city and wharf. Enormous black birds were enamored by my paint box. I am lucky to have gotten away with all my brushes.
