ABBOTTS LAGOON, VISION POND  24X20/20X16  1996

Two of my ugly ducklings with exceptional hikes and fond memories. Abbotts Lagoon was usually a solitary place of extraordinary sand and surf. It was my favorite place to watch the California Grey Whales migrate. Vision Pond was a clothing optional, fresh water, public swimming hole. It is always a memorable experience meeting people sans clothing. I think both these pieces were overworked. In both cases, I wasn't ready to stop painting when the piece was finished. I was enjoying the moment too much to value the object.
