LANDLUBBER  8X10  1996

Another quaint tug of a vessel occupied by a friend of mine. John lived in a 4 by 4' space onboard. A generous boatwright was fixing some leaks for him in dry dock. Usually it was anchored a couple of hundred yards off shore in Tomales bay. John would paddle or sail a little skiff back and forth carrying fresh water and food. He would bath from a cold hose on shore. I was amazed how anyone would choose to live such a harsh existence. It is cold and damp year round on the bay. I like to imagine he is still hashing out a life in Tomales Bay.
