Painted here are the names of the fallen defenders of the Alamo. Circumnavigating the painting is the Aramaic/Hebrew prayer for remembering the dead anchored by the date, 1836. This was a monumental effort that took over three months to complete. Composing the names and prayer took several attempts. I sketched it in charcoal, erased, and sketched it again until it fit. During its execution my marriage fell apart. I completed the painting and mothballed it. It has never been exhibited.
On March 6 you can light a Yartzeit candle and remember those who fell at the Alamo.
