POINT WILSON WEST  20X16  1993

Visited my friends in Port Townsend, Washington. It is a beautiful town on the Olympic Peninsula and the wooden boat capital of the U.S.  Painted at Fort Woden and Point Wilson. Viewed but failed to paint one of my favorite structures in the country. Alexander's Castle was a residence built to accommodate a Reverend and his Scottish bride. When he went to get her, she had already married. It is a beautiful and tragic residence. While painting this scene, I got trapped by high tide for a couple of hours. It was delightful. You can see the lighthouse on the end of the point.
