ANIMA/ANIMUS  24X30, 8X10  1992

Carl Jung's theory that we all have elements of other gender than we were born with at birth is depicted within this painting. Everyone saw the male with it's obvious penis and testes. It is somewhat cat like in appearance. If you reverse the positive and negative space, you will see a female torso. The yellow comprises her body, with the spiral as her belly button. The head of the creature forms her pubic area with the tail as a garter.
