FIREHOLE CANYON  30X24  1989

This was a beautiful loop drive in Yellowstone. The big fire had occurred in this region several months prior. It was creepy, and dangerous, hiking. The threat was trees falling over. I love to fish. I get pleasure watching others fish. I saw some anglers in a pretty spot so I set my easel up stream. Thought I would watch them while I painted. Everything was going swimmingly (can you anticipate where I am heading). A gust came along blowing my canvas into the stream. Without forethought I jumped into the whitewater after it. The fishermen started yelling at me. I couldn't catch my breath from the icy water. I made it to shore with painting intact but pride far downstream.
