VALENTINE GEYSER  24X30  1989

I felt this painting best conveyed the atmospheric mists of Norris Geyser Field. You can see the trail on the lower right. It would alternate between narrow boardwalk and gravel path. I would tie off my canvas to prevent it from blowing onto the fragile, superheated, thin, crust. People usually think rain is my nemesis when painting on location. It is wind I must be cautious of. It will rip a canvas from my hands or worse, drag me along. Happy Valentines.
