IVANA'S YARD 66x54 1986

Returned to Commerce to visit a dear friend, Ivana Spalatin. In the foreground is a sprinkler spewing paint. Paintings are like journals. I can recall many impressions of that day, including sensory recollections. There was an air conditioner cycling on and off. It emitted a smell. The heat was overwhelming. I knew I would recall this visit for the rest of my life.
