Bubby @ 60x50 Acrylic 1983

I was close with both my grandmothers. This is Eva Hochman, my mother's mother. She was a character. We were always telling her to ash her cigarette to no avail. She had a hard life setting up and operating her husbands fruit stand in Rosenberg, Texas. She would entertain herself with solitaire. She didn't mind cheating now and then. Bubby always had something on the stove. She cooked typical Rumanian dishes. Her doctor prescribed that she eat bananas for potassium. She did not care for them. Bubby had lots of peculiar expressions often repeated. "Baby, what's on my lung is on my tongue" translates to; I'll tell you what I think. I loved spending time with her. We shared vices.
